• Get The Brave Chick's Guide to Putting Yourself Out There

Help is on the way

Screen Shot 2013-06-07 at 2.43.24 PMKnow this: God knows about your dream. He put it there.

Everything you need to get you there is available to you. He wouldn’t plant something there that you can’t do.

When you get peaceful, that’s when you’ll access it.

The only way to get peaceful is to admit how franticfranticfrantic you are. How scared you are. How frustrated. Lost. Without answers. And to accept that spinning it over and over again in your head is not the way out.

Dropping into the middle of all of that spin and heading toward the light–that’s the way out.

It’s like this–duck underneath all of the stuff going through your mind. Imagine you’re in a collapsed tunnel and there are pockets of oxygen underneath it all. Duck your head and crawl out. See that light over there? Crawl in that direction.

“Hold your face to the light, though for the moment you cannot see.”–Bill Wilson

Help is on the way.

Your job: accept, duck, crawl toward the light. Trust that you’ll get exactly what you need when you need it. You only have to trust enough. You don’t have to get all Mother Teresa zen about it.

God’s job: everything you can’t do.

If you can’t do it, ask for help. You lack nothing. You have enough. You have everything you need right now.

If you fuck it up, it’s all good. Nothing is permanent. Not bliss. Not failure. Keep walking.

You crack me up! “You don’t have to get all Mother Teresa zen about it.” I was thinking to today about my grandmothers and their peace. Talk about zen ladies. I often wonder how they got to be so calm and I think it’s a lifetime of practicing “accept, duck, crawl toward the light.”

I love this, because one thing people don’t get about my life and business is how much I have screwed up to get here! So many mistakes, miscalculations, misapprehensions… people think that if you have an enlightened business, you must have just magically floated there and it all came together easily, but what they DON’T get is how much you struggle with yourself. This sort of reminds me of “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” :o)

“Trust that you’ll get exactly what you need when you need it” is something I know and something that can be sooo hard sometimes. Especially when what I need isn’t what I want!! I bring myself back to that place of acceptance and trust and try to go with the flow. Thanks for the reminder Sarah!

Oh, yeah. That’s a frustrating place–when what you want isn’t what you really need. That’s always because I think that whatever it I want will get me where I think I need to be. Which it won’t.

well there you go, from God’s lips to your keyboard to my ears. All I can really say is thanks, I needed that more than you might ever realize, and exactly at the right time!

“And if you fuck it all up, it’s all good.” Truer words where never written, just start looking for the helpers like Mr. Rogers said!

    • Sarah February 27, 2013 at 7:54 am #

Oh! Thanks for reminding me about Mr. Rogers. I love that he said that about tragedies, but it’s a great outlook for regular life too.

    Right on!

It’s like you’re one part Marianne Williamson, one part slam poet and one part pure Sarah Y. And for that I am grateful.
